I'm Parker Smith. I'm 13 years old, and I'm in 7th grade at Lakeridge Jr High School in Orem, Utah. I'm working on my Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project, and I need your help.

The story about poverty in Guatemala isn’t in the news, but it is pretty bad. Forty-three percent of children in Guatemala don't have enough food or basic supplies.

I have found a group of kids and their parents who really need some personal care supplies.  They don’t have soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, first aid supplies, and other simple things.  They live in small towns near Escuintla and Suchitepequez on the south coast of the country.

For my Eagle Scout Service Project, I am going to build at least 100 personal care kits for these families. Hopefully, I can raise enough money to make a lot more.

I will be working with Service Mentors, which is a non-profit charitable organization that will take the kits to Guatemala and give them to the families.  They do a lot of other good work in this area of Guatemala too.

In addition to donations from local stores, I need to raise at least $1,000 to buy some of the supplies for the kits.  This is where I need your help.

When a Boy Scout works on an Eagle Service Project, all materials have to be donated or purchased with donations.

Please click the Donate button on the right.  I really need your help.  Your donation will help me finish my project, and I will be very grateful.

If you email me, I can even give you a tax-deductible receipt from Service Mentors if you want one.
